EVENTS/MOOD/ALERTNESS:
Got a few things done. Feeling decent. Walking sure is a mood booster.

Hung out with friends and then went to some local bars. One guy said to me "you sure look happy" jokingly. I guess I walked in with a pretty serious face. I try to smile more, but Guess when I drink I forget that. You know, I'm tempted to drink not so much because I enjoy it, but as a way to socialize more. When I think about quitting my chief worry is that I'll be even more unsociable. But like last night, I wan't socialable anyway. And when I drink I rely on that rather than trying to improve my social skills. I spend too much money, get hungover, drive when I shouldn't, and behave erraticly. There was a girl last night I should have talked to but didn't. I should quit drinking, and then try to go to all these places again and be more sociable. If you just mind your own business people end up talking to you anyway. At least I'd be something to put myself out there.

Again, weight loss has stalled. I'm not going to beat myself up or get too weight focused. In a way losing it slowly makes it more likely to stick, and I'm in the for the long haul. I do need to look at how my transgressions, like potatoes, sauces, breading and beer have hurt my progress.

Got some more weights from my friend. Still waiting for bench!

FOOD:

Breakfast:

Lunch:
tuna
berries

Dinner:
4 pcs popeyes chicken
cole slaw

many beers

EXERCISE:
WEIGHT: 290
BLOOD SUGAR: 89
KETONES:

EVENTS/MOOD/ALERTNESS: decent. mad about getting drunk again, but I had a nice day hanging out with a friend. I realized I need to mix business (dopamine) with pleasure (serotonin). Business alone is work for it's own sake- tedious and pointless. Pleasure alone is unrewarding, because you end up sitting on your ass waiting for pleasure to come to you. I need to marry work ethic to the pleasure ethic, and seek my desires, once I figure out what those are. My cat (one of them) is not doing well at all. It really sucks.

EVENTS/MOOD/ALERTNESS:
helping friend out, so his mother in law makes me eat this stuff. it sucks. Surprised I've gone so long without having much social pressure to eat grains/carbs. The last few days have been rife with errors. Small things, but it seems like they start a slide. I've also been out of grassfed for a while, so that has been missing. And I haven't kept up with lifing weights once a week as I had hoped. These dips will come, not a biggie. It seems like the 5-htp and l-dopa seem to be improving my mood.

did one set, 10 secs up, 10 secs down, for each body part. Hard! Sore next day!
Will try to do this once a week. Thinking about getting a trainer- there's a place in town for this. For this kind of workout, a trainer would help. Muscles are sore.

WEIGHT: 295

BLOOD SUGAR: 94

KETONES: trace

EVENTS: slept late, taking it easy. Then buddy called and wanted to hang out. Afterwards we went to bar, and I had too many beers. Up too late. Had a good time, after being a hermit all weekend, by why get drunk on sunday night? Dumb. Sometime's I'm my own worst enemy. I guess I felt like I could do whatever I wanted to reward myself for working out. When I hang out with this one friend is when I usually drink. Not to blame him, but I really need to anticipate this and plan better. Plan an escape route!

MOOD: decent. Nice day, enjoyed the workout. Feeling good. Again, feeling more clear headed. Seems like with my procrastination, I still do it, but it's easier for me to determine what's really important. I also don't fret about all the details and ideas that pop in to my head and overwhelm me. I'll try to write it down, or think if it's really important it will come back to me. Want to get more organized using paper than computer. I heard that people with ADD are more visual. I put up more clocks at home, and got this time-timer visual timer. I also bought the invisible clock, and it's a beeper thing that I can set up to vibrate every 10 minutes. It reminds me to look at the time and keep moving- stay on task. It helps. Interesting stuff.

SLEEP/ALERTNESS Prior Day: went to bed earlier, woke up like 10 or something.

I have this program on my palm called "eat watch". It's cool, because you enter your weights in there, and it averages them out and does a "moving average". Basically it curves your weight and smoothes out the line. Gives you a better sense of what't going on. It shows a continuous drop because even though the last few days weight have been close, every day at the lower weight shows a real change from a few days ago, since my weight is staying at the new level. I wish I could run two copies of it, or find something similar to run on my desktop to track my blood sugar too.

BLOOD SUGAR: 138 UP from 118 (breading on chicken yesterday?)

EVENTS:
Took it easy most of day. Did some walking. Talked to J. on the phone, and that didn't go so well, but at least I called and didn't procrastinate. Hung out with friends, saw a movie, and then went out drinking. Not very paleo, I know. I was hung over like crazy the next day. I also probably should have eaten more before I went out, but I didn't know there would be so much drinking. I puked late at night. :(

MOOD: Okay I guess.

SLEEP/ALERTNESS Prior Day:
Slept well last night. Feel alert today.

EVENTS:
Hung out with friends, got phone number from girl I've been interested in for a while. I missed the opportunity before, but was determined to ask this time!

Late to work today. :( Sleep schedule messed up- stayed up to late. Have to watch that.

A little peer pressure (or at least me being two polite, and nervous about asking girl out), led to some alcohol consumption and ice cream. I did avoid the potatoes and didn't overdo it on booze. I don't want to see anything as a "failure" or "mistake", because like anything else it will take time for me to become adjusted to eating differently, and developing strategies for eating the way I want. For example, I still don't have a lunch routine down. Should I bring something from home, or eat out and just eat the meat? I want to avoid trans fats in fast food as much as possible, but it's hard to know what's in anything. The best is just to prepare things on my own, but I need to make sure to plan ahead and have things ready.

MOOD:
Good. Glad I'm pursuing girl "J". She's starting to grow on me. Excited but still mellow, we'll see what happens. Generally in positive mood. Feeling scattered at work, but got some stuff done and had another meeting after work.

SLEEP/ALERTNESS Prior Day:
Alert during evening meeting, feeling a little more energetic lately.
